LGS Week 2 November Challenge Sketch

Well, I have been working on getting caught up this week trying to get it done before the big T-Day! Here is the sketch challenge from Let's Get Sketchy:

The photo I decided to use here is from our geocaching group, it was the world wide flash mob get together in Las Vegas, we met at the LV sign for 15 minutes and then went on our way about town geocaching! I am in the back you can barely see me waving my hands, no really I am there!

Thanks for coming by and taking a look!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all!

So in celebration of the fall LGS is hosting a Fall Color Combo challenge. We are to use the colors below and create ANY project related to the Fall. It can be a layout, card, mixed media project or altered item. The sky is the limit!

Since I am doing Thanksgiving Day Cards, I decided to use this challenge to complete my card making for this holiday. Here is my take:

Thanks LGS for all the great inspiration! I had a great time looking at all the projects and getting some ideas.

Week 4 October Challenge at LGS

Here were are coming to the end of the month. I love this time of year, Halloween and all. Here is the 4th week challenge at Let's Get Sketchy. The sketch:

As you can see I turned the sketch upside down. The photos I used are from early this year when me and my mother went to the Bellagio to see the conservatory. They decorate the gardens with the seasons. And, it just happened to be Chinese New Years. Also, it is a digital layout, the digital credits go to KimB designs Wildchild Kit for the button elements, Katie Pertiet, Designer Digitals.com for the paper elements from the Happy Haunting kit and Sausan Designs for the stitching and tag elements from the Golden Kit. Here is my take:

Hope you enjoy, I had fun!

Labor Day Camping w/Family

On Labor Day weekend a bunch of us went camping up to Panguitch Lake in Utah. The fishing sucked but the weather was great. Here's a layout from that weekend. I am posting this layout for a challenge from the My Sketch World blog. Thanks Malin for the great inspiration.

October Challenge from LGS

Here are two challenges I completed so far!

Here is the sketch for the 2nd week in October:

Here is my take on the challenge:
We were camping in the mountains with family and while everyone else was fishing, Tom and I went geocaching, our new hobby. It's like treasure hunting with a gps device.

This is the sketch for week 1 in October:

Here is my version:

I've had this photo for a while of Tom on his birthday poses with a friend who passed away recently. It was surprising to hear of his illness and its true that the good die young! RIP Jeff, we miss you!

LGS Challenge #25

I want to thank LGS for posting such awesome challenges. Here is this week's sketch and here is my take on the sketch. This photo is from a recent camping trip and we were out geocaching (our new hobby). The cache we were looking for happened to be near this rather large and rather round rock. Kinda makes you wonder were it came from and how did it get there. That's what I like about geocaching is that caches take you some places and sites that you otherwise would not visit.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Let's Get Sketchy Challenge

I did this layout for the Let's Get Sketchy Challenge #24. I absolutely loved this sketch and when the granddaughter's recently went to the beach in california and with their family, I saw the photos I thought this would be a great gift for them to remember their trip by. I plan to get 8x8 frames and frame it for them. This is a digital layout and the digital elements are from a kit called Venice Beach designed by Lynn Grieveson through Designer's Digitals.

Here is the sketch:
and, here is the layout:

I loved the papers and elements in this kit so I had a chance to use several digital papers for this layout. Had a great time doing this. Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Get Sketchy Challenge 7-30-12

Challenge for this week was to create a layout starting using only a white background, one accent color, and flowers. I used red as my accent color and because I am wearing a red Tee in the photo. Thanks Let's Get Scrappy for the great inspiration. The digital elements are from RThorn and Angel's Designs courtesy of e-scapeandscrap. Hope you enjoy!

July's Not Over Yet

Another site where I find great inspiration is My Sketch World, here are two layouts I did the past few days for two of their challenges.

We had gone down on the Strip as Ceasar's Palace was having a fireworks show. This is a two-page layout.

This layout is of our recent camping trip to Mt. Charleston, we are chillin by the fire. It is a digital layout. I need to look up the credits for the digital elements and will post as soon as I have them. I hope you enjoyed!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Let's Get Sketchy Challenge

I did this as a challenge for Let's Get Sketchy! I was looking for inspiration and had seen this blog before so I decided to use one of their sketches. I know I needed to start trying to catch up getting some layouts done. So here is my first layout with this site-

Here is the sketch:

We had gone to Rachel, NV in May of this year and this is just a few of the photos from this trip, more to come.

How time flies when your having fun!

Well...look how long it's been since I've last posted. It been a busy and somewhat stressful 1st half of 2012. I haven't done many layouts so I guess that why I haven't posted in so long. I am hoping to complete some crafty stuff this summer.

We've been to Rachel, NV for a meetup with some geocachers and then we've gone camping a few times to the mountains. Since our UFO meetup group went defunked and we are taking a break from bowling this summer, I've found a new hobby, "Geocaching," its where you use billion dollar satellites (GPS) to find a treasure, more or less. We have 30 finds right now and 3 of our own caches out there. Apparently this is becoming a world wide phenom and there are thousands in Las Vegas alone and millions around the world. For more info here is the website: www.geocaching.com

Here are a couple of layouts that I did do earlier this year while trying to catch up on some photos and hopefully there will be more shortly.

Race Fans, obviously!

Happy Retirement to My Friend

Oh...today is the official last day of work for my dear friend. So as a retirement gift I did a digital layout for her. We had lots of good times at work and was such a good friend, whom I vented too alot. We bowled on a team together and took a tap dance class together. I framed a layout in a 8x8 shadow box frame. This is the one I did for myself. Slightly different. I will miss her at work, she made it bearable when times got tough but all in all we had a good time.
This one's for you Miss Lori!

Just a little layout!

This layout was done for a challenge on the MSW site. I used digital elements as well as traditional scrapbooking elements (Prima flowers and TH tokens - this one says Destiny). Thus the title "I break tradition". The digital elements are from KimB's Design, Wildchild Kit. The title and the journaling on the bottom are from a Natasha Bennington song called Unwritten. I hope you enjoy!
Have a great day!

More January Layouts

This past year, we joined a meetup group, the Las Vegas UFO Hunters. We met once a month to go skywatching. We met some great people and here are a couple layouts from our time with them.
Thanks for looking!

Happy New Year! Finally have some layout to share. I am trying to catch up as I have not done any layouts since mid-summer. Here is the family on race day, heading towards the gates. I have been wanting to scrap this photo for a long time.
On the layout below, the journaling states; I must have been yelling at Tomas, probably telling him to "take the photo already!"
This is a 2-pager from one of our camping trips this past summer. We were at Pharangat Wildlife Refuge. I put the little skunk looking behind the tree to remind me that we did smell skunk that night while we were skygazing.
Thanks again for stopping by and taking a look. I hope you enjoyed!
