Cocoa Gift Holders

I made these cute little holders for friends at work. They hold a package of hot chocolate. Made a nice little gift. Boy this year things seem so busy or rather busier than ever. Every night busy making cards, tags, gift card holders, etc. I still need to clean the house, yikes!
Thanks again for coming by! Merry Christmas!

Christmas Tags

Hi everyone...it time to post a little christmas something. Things have been so hectic that time is just getting away from me, but here is a little something. Sorry, the pictures are not the best. I can't take credit for the tags themselves, I recieve these beautiful snowflake tags from my swap partner in a 12 days of christmas swap on the cmb. I also received this very cute snowmen stamp set from another partner in another swap so I decided to play them and work on my copics skills and play with color. Oh, and the snowmen are from the Greeting Farm Keep Cozy set. Thanks to both my partners for their wonderful gifts and making my christmas a little easier.

Hot Summer Nights

Here are a couple of layouts I have forgotten to share. One night we decided to go to the park and I brought my new camera to play with. Here are a couple of layouts that were inspired by challenges at the MSW site.

Thanks for stopping by as always!

Latest Layouts

Hi All, I just noticed I have forgotten to post some layouts that I have completed over the past month or so. In late May, Tomas and I went to Rachel, NV for Rachel Days and do a little skywatching. We met up with some people from the Las Vegas UFO Hunters group. These layout have more to do with our road trip.

First time to Rachel, after living in LV for so long and have had some interest in UFOs and such.

We didn't see any unearthly being, well not the ET kind anyway!

May/June Crafting!!!!

Welcome to my blog....the past couple of weeks I have been working on a couple of altered compostition books with a new technique. On these I used wrinkled paper that has be inked with distressed inks and then cover with glossy accents, sprinkled at bit of glitter on one and used stickles on the other. Once dried I covered the paper with Modpodge, then covered book with the wrinkled paper and added embellishments to complete. I also used a pocket on the inside cover and made tags for the pockets.

I am really liking this technique and I see more of these in my future.

National Scrapbooking Day with MSW ................ 5/7 thru 5/14/11

Yeah another crop and boy do I need to do some layouts. Over at the My Sketch World website they are doing one for NSD. It will be all week, There are some wonderful challenges for layouts and cards posted. Here is what I've done so far:

Here is a Mother's Day layout. My brother and sister-in-law came into town to take Mom out, so we did a little eating, a little gambling, and a little shopping (well I did a little shopping for shoes).

This was for a recipe challenge using 4 buttons, 4 flowers, music sheet image, and cardstock:

Another eagle layout, I will report that the eaglets are doing fine!

This card we had to use a vintage image:

This challenge was to use a Ad for inspiration:

Here is the ad we had to use for inspiration!

Memorial to Mama Eagle

OK, I'll try not to make this too long or too sad. About a month ago I started watching the eagle cam from the Norfork Botanical Gardens. There are 3 hatchlings from this nest. So cute, little fuzzy white eaglets. I have been watching them grow and grow. Checking on them everyday I began to feel like the were my little charges. The little guys were banded week before last so they could keep track of their travels once they fledge. Last week was tragic for them as Mama eagle was killed by a jet that was landing at the Norfork Int'l Airport. Apparently the gardens, airport and lake where the eagles hunt are all close together. Thousands of people all over the world were tuned into this eagle cam. It seemed so silly to be so attached but many were. The day momma died I was so upset and watching the cam hoping that daddy eagle would returned and just before dark he did to feed the eaglets and then again the next morning to bring more food, this was heartwarming. The authorities decided to remove the eaglets to the Wildlife Center of Virginia. I didn't know how to feel as the daddy eagle lost his mate and now his family, it was quite sad, but I know he will go on and hopefully find a new mate in the fall. The eaglets are being well kept at the center and plans to release back to the wild in late summer. There is a cam at the center so we can still keep watch over them.

There was a layout challenge post on the MSW site, that was perfect for the layout I wanted to do, a tribute to mama eagle. Here it is:

I am sure I'll have more layouts to come over the next week or so!
This is a digital layout, designer credits for background paper and elements go to:

15 Days of twilight swap (con't)

Here are some more items that I created for my partner. I had a great time crafting these for my partner and I hope she enjoys them. As part of this swap we had to make 3 twinchies and trinchies, these are the twinchies.

I did an altered frame using sparking red, black and white (diamond bling):

For two of the days we had to do 3 ATCs and also 3 Tags:

We also had to do cricut cuts twilight related, this cut is from the Storybook cart and the letters is the twilight font using SCAL:

These are just of few of the items using mostly cardstock from the Immortal Love stack from DCWV. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

Altered Matchbox

On the CMB, I was involved in a 15 days of twilight swap. I have been waiting, as I didn't want my partner to accidently coming across these crafty items I made for her before she received them. She should be recieving her box any day now and I can't wait.

Here is one of the items I did for her which I had posted a sneak peak earlier on this item. It is a altered matchbox filled with handmade flowers, stickpins, and a charm. I hope she like them. The paper used for these is from DCWV Immortal Love stack.

I love altering the matchboxes, they are pretty easy to do plus you can use the inside to stash extra goodies!
